Who We Are:
Daughters of the Nile is an international fraternal organization for women who are related by birth or marriage to a Master Mason, Shriner or Daughters of the Nile; or who was a patient, with or without Shrine or Masonic relationship, at a Shriners Hospital for Children®. Founded in 1913 in Seattle, WA, Daughters of the Nile members now total over 25,000 in 136 cities throughout the United States and Canada. The members of Daughters of the Nile are proud of their long association with Shriners International and their continuing support of Shriners Hospitals for Children®. Daughters of the Nile maintains two permanent endowment funds to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children®. In the United States, the Daughters of the Nile Foundation is a non-profit public charity, while in Canada the Supreme Temple administers the Canadian Foundation.

Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a network of 22 hospitals throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico that provides pediatric care for specialty areas of orthopedics, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate regardless of the patients’ ability to pay. Shriners Hospitals for Children® is not only renowned for its expertise in medical surgery and treatment of children, but also for their extensive research program through their affiliation with the leading medical centers in North America.
What We Do:
Daughters of the Nile contribute over $2,000,000 annually to the Shriners Hospitals for Children® to be used for the medical care and rehabilitation of children. Since 1924, Daughters of the Nile has contributed monetary gifts amounting to over $56 million.
The members of Daughters of the Nile are proud of their Gold Plaques on the Donor Recognition Boards in all 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children®, each representing a contribution of over $1,000,000. To date, 11 of the hospitals have received over $2,000,000, which is represented by a second Gold Plaque in those hospitals. In July 2016, a fifth Gold Plaque was added to Shriners Hospitals for Children® - Canada in Montreal representing contributions of over $5,000,000 to that hospital.
Each year the members of Daughters of the Nile give generously of their time to the hospitals by providing more than 150,000 volunteer hours at the Shriners Hospitals for Children®. In addition, they sew clothing and quilts, and provide toys, books, games and other educational and recreational items for the children with an annual value of over $900,000.

El Tehran is located in Atlanta, Ga and is one of many subordinate temples within The Supreme Temple Daughters of the Nile. Our membership is approximately 200, and we average 40 Ladies in attendance.
Where and When We Meet:
Monthly meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm except for June, July and December at the Yaarab Shrine Center located at 400 Ponce de Leon Ave. Atlanta, GA 30308
